Granted, I only get 3 shots before having to reload, but dear god it's nasty. I find myself killing most slagged enemies with one hit and most badasses with 3. Normally I have little use for shotguns (well, other than Swordsplosion!!!), but this thing is insane.

It's miles better than a Law despite the lower melee damage, but it can take some time to save-farm the right version. *Get a Rubi by turning in the quest Rakkaholics Anonymous to Moxxi. The Love Thumper isn't a great idea in UVHM/OP and it teaches bad habits, but it can be very nice in the early game where grenades aren't in infinite supply. Learn to love stripping your shield, or else get and wear a Love Thumper (which has such a long recharge delay that it'll essentially never refill, granting full-time roid damage). An unroided Execute won't do enough against the big targets.

There is a phase 1.5, which is attacking with a healing weapon (Rubi/Grog, Law and Order), but it's generally not a good idea to heal-tank anything particularly dangerous unless you've got a proper Grog Nozzle/Roid Shield combo and can guarantee a full heal with every melee strike.ДЄt lower levels, a properly roided last-second Execute should kill (or almost kill) basically anything.
